The next astrophysical seminar was held at Baku branch of Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory named after Nasreddin Tusi of ANAS.
Then, Sabir Aliyev, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, leading researcher at the “Astrophysics Physics and Magnetism” Department of the Observatory, presented the report on “The observed features of photometric variability in CP-magnetic stars” (S.H.Aliyev, V.M. Khalilov, Z.M.Alishova).
According to the reporter, the present study analyzed the brightness variability characteristics by setting phase dependencies of up to 40 different types of CP-magnetic stars: “It has been established that the phase dependencies of the brightness of the BO-FO class of CP-magnetic stars of different types of peculiarity are divided into three groups: 1) Change in brightness varies with the same phase in the entire (3400A-8000A) wavelength range observed; 2) Decreasing to a minimum (sometimes zero) in the range 114800A-5500A depending on the wavelength of brightness; 3) The wavelength 1<5000A and 1>5500A of brightness varies with the reflected phase in the waves” .
The report was welcomed by participants of the event, discussions were held on the topic, and questions were answered.
