The astrophysical seminar on the theme “Investigation of hydrogen lines in the spectrum of HD199478 extreme star” was held in Baku section of Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory of ANAS on October 18.
Opening the event, Deputy Director of Scientific Affairs at Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory, PhD in Physics and Mathematics Elchin Babayev congratulated the seminar participants on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the state independence restoration. The scientific deeply respected the memory of nationwide leader, the salvation of our nation Heydar Aliyev on this historic day and wished God’s mercy to our martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the state independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Then, professor Nariman Ismayilov, Position of the head of Department of galaxies of processes of star formation, ScD in Physics and Mathematics, made a report on the “Investigation of hydrogen lines in the spectrum of HD199478 extreme stars” (SH.K. Ismailova, N.Z. Ismailov, KH.M. Mikailov). The scientific noted that the presence of extraordinary radiation and high-speed absorption phenomena, observed in HD199478 extreme star, which is still unknown to the physical nature, was monitored: “Observations showed that the parameters of the lines were unchanged within 18-24 days. The most probable characteristic of the hydrogen line parameters was changed in 22±2 days”.
The speaker underlined that a large absorption of -510 km/h was only found on one season in 2011. In contrast to the wide absorption observed on the wing on the H- alpha (Hα) line, the speed of the wide radiation structure reachs ±500 km/h.
The report was welcomed by the event participants, discussions were held on the topic, and questions were answered.
