Space weather and forecast
08.04.2019 09:04 / SPACE WEATHER Space weather and forecast

Space weather - Solar activity has been at a very low level. The new 2738 (N06E72, Hsx/alpha) - numbered oblast on the solar disk rotated and settled on the disk and some Class B ignition occurred. The images obtained did not show any Coronal Mass Ejections (CME). During the reporting period, there was no ignition.

The flood of more than 2 MeV energy loaded electrons have risen during the reporting period and reached the maximum value of 23,100 pfu on 07 April / 22.05 UTC. The flood of more than 10 MeV energy loaded protons remained stable at the background level throughout the entire reporting period.

During the reporting period, the solar wind parameters were normal. The speed of the solar wind was on average 386 km/sec. The total magnetic field changed at intervals of 6-7 nT, and Bz component in the range of -5.59 and +0.5 nT. The Phi angle is mainly concentrated in the negative sector.

The geomagnetic field was generally quiet during the last 24 hours.

Space weather forecast - Solar activity will remain at a very low level during forecast days (April 08-10). However, the occurrence of exacerbations from Class C is not excluded, although it is less likely.

It is expected that flood of more than 2 MeV energy loaded electrons will remain at medium or high levels during the prediction period (April 08-10). It is expected that flood of more than 10 MeV energy loaded protons will continue at the background levels during the forecast period (April 08-10).

In the forecast period (08-10 April), the solar wind parameters will be nominal.

During the forecast period (01 - 03 April), general calm in the geomagnetic field is predicted (Kp=2-3). Magnetic hurricane is estimated to be less than 1%.
